Yiyi Zhang, PhD, MS

Dr. Zhang received her PhD in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins University in 2012. She was faculty member at the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in 2012 to 2017, and joined Columbia University Division of General Medicine in 2017. Dr. Zhang's research focuses on the epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases, with a particular interest in investigating the determinants, risk factors, and intervention strategies for cardiovascular disease prevention and control at the population level. Her recent work has focused on evaluating the impact of exposures to cardiovascular risk factors during young adulthood on the risks of cardiovascular diseases in later life. Dr. Zhang is also interested in cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation and sudden cardiac death, particularly in identifying ways to improve atrial fibrillation diagnosis, prevention, and treatment in high risk patients.
