Overview
Francisco N. Alvarez, MD is Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Medicine, Columbia University Irving Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. His academic interests include clinical informatics, healthcare operations, health policy and economics, health systems strengthening, innovative healthcare payment and delivery models, and social medicine. Prior to joining the division, he was Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of California, San Francisco where he served as Associate Director of the Night Hospitalist and Cardiac Hospitalist Services. He completed training in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and a bachelor's degree from Harvard University. He is board-certified in internal medicine and clinical informatics.
