Overview

I am a clinician-scientist and pulmonary physician. I completed clinical and research training at McGill and Columbia Universities and maintain appointments at both institutions. My research expertise includes respiratory medicine, physiology and epidemiology. My research program is focused on understanding what makes certain lungs resilient and others susceptible to lung disease. Specific axes of my research program include i) defining resilient lung structure and function in the 21st century, ii) identifying modifiable etiologic factors in order to promote resilient lung development and maintenance across the lifespan, iii) understanding the mechanisms of increased disease susceptibility and iv) establishing clinical utility of such knowledge.
