Neil M. Vora

Overview

Neil Vora is physician and epidemiologist. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California with a double major in Biology and International Relations and with a minor in Philosophy. He received his MD from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), during which he was awarded a Doris Duke International Clinical Research Fellowship to conduct research in malaria and HIV in Uganda. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia University/NY Presbyterian Hospital in 2012, after which he joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an Epidemic Intelligence Service officer. Dr. Vora's research interests are in emerging infectious diseases, particularly those with zoonotic origins. His work has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and The Lancet, among other journals.
